Recently some great research has been done on the benefits of barefoot running. Daniel Lieberman of Harvard University is at the forefront of this research. The research has found that the modern running shoe causes the runner to place significantly more stress on their body by striking the ground with their heel. Running barefoot, or with a barefoot alternative like the Vibram FiveFingers
, causes the runner to place less stress on their body by striking the ground with their forefoot.
This video examines the modern shoe heel strike versus the barefoot forefoot strike.
The bottom line: Running barefoot is better for you body. With Vibram FiveFingers
, you can enjoy the benefits of running barefoot with the protection of a shoe!

My baby toe tucks under his neighbor so tight he will never know the comfort and security of his own abode. No one can tell but I must admit I do feel a little sheepish for not using all of these $100.00 shoes!
