Vibram has released a new FiveFingers Model, the Bikila
. The Bikila features a new tread design and additional padding around the sides of your feet (see picture).
The Bikila is the first Vibram model designed specifically for running. The name "Bikila" comes from the the marathon runner Abebe Bikila. He raced, won and set a new record running the 1960 Olympic marathon barefoot. The shoe features a new foot pod design on bottom, but it shouldn't take away from the traditional "ground feel" of other Vibram models.
